The premiere of the documentary just happened a few weeks ago in Austin at the Heating, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) conference. It is called “Hot Commodity,” and it is a recruitment documentary for the HVACR industry.
The goal of this eBook is to shed some light on the certification process—we will introduce readers to the multiple certification organizations within the industry, as well as spell out the advantages of getting technicians certified.
The documentary is part of HARDI's Workforce Recruitment Initiative, which aims to bring awareness of careers in the HVACR industry and wholesale distribution to younger generations.
While the stronger economy is definitely good news for contractors, they are probably not too thrilled to see these record low unemployment numbers. As everyone knows, the HVACR industry is struggling with a severe shortage of skilled labor, and the problem is only getting worse.
Like with most jobs, HVAC instructors are being asked to do more with less. In talking with numerous instructors, The NEWS has come up with the top 10 challenges facing HVAC instructors.
Now in its second year, the Transition to Trades program trains transitioning soldiers in a trade, then either hires them at Hiller or helps them find new employment in the civilian workforce across the U.S.
Technology is rapidly changing, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the HVAC industry. It is more important than ever for HVAC instructors to keep up with these changes, and 750 teachers did just that by attending the 12th annual HVAC Excellence National HVAC Educators and Trainers Conference in Las Vegas.
Commissioned by the HARDI Foundation, this documentary will have a focus on showcasing the daily lives of younger employees at HARDI distributors, with the aim of targeting younger generations for recruitment.
