Trane, a brand of Ingersoll Rand, announced it is expanding its CenTraVac™ centrifugal chiller portfolio for large buildings and industrial applications in the United States and Canada.
York YD model “C” dual compressor centrifugal chillers from Johnson Controls are now available with Optispeed variable-speed drives (VSD) and an expanded capacity range of 1,500–6,000 ton (5,300–21,000 kW).
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) has developed a new series of centrifugal chillers, called the ETI-Z Series, that use a new low-global warming potential (low-GWP) refrigerant, HFO-1233zd(E). The various models in the new series will be progressively launched starting this September.
Honeywell has announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has added HFO-1233zd (also known as Solstice™ zd) refrigerant to the list of materials exempted from volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations.
Among the many products at the Trane booth, the company is highlighting its new Series S™ CenTraVac™ chiller featuring AdaptiSpeed™ technology, which Trane says delivers optimum efficiency for centrifugal chillers in the 180-390 tonnage range.
The Redi-Purge noncondensable gravity flow purge 007 Series units are a virtual drop-in replacement for purge units that pull from and return to the condenser. The series includes models 007-11-C3 and 007-123-C3. According to the manufacturer, the refrigerant charge does not have to be pulled to install.
