NATE elected a new slate of officers to its executive committee
as well as five new members to its board of trustees for the 2011-2012 term at
its biannual board of trustees meeting. The NATE Board of Trustees named Don Frendberg,
chairman of Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors
International (HARDI), as chairman of the board. Mitchell Cropp, president of Cropp-Metcalfe, and
Chris Baker, president of Virginia Air Distributors, were both elected to
vice-chairman positions. David Swift, president and CEO of Goodman/Amana, was
elected treasurer for the 2011-2012 term. Ray Isaac, president of Isaac Heating
& Air Conditioning, assumed the role of immediate past chairman.
During HARDI’s annual meeting in Maui, Thermostat Recycling
Corp.’s Executive Director Mark Tibbetts recognized three HVACR distributors
for their efforts to promote TRC’s program and help reduce mercury pollution.
Marine sergeant Adam Kisielewski recently
received keys to his brand new home thanks to the help of Homes for Our Troops,
dozens of volunteers and local businesses.
ICP honored eight leading U.S.
distributors for outstanding performance during the past year. Charlie
Piranian, ICP national sales manager, announced the awards.
AHRI announced the relaunch of a website
intended to keep industry professionals and equipment owners informed on the
phase out of ozone depleting refrigerants, www.PhaseOutFacts.org.

Distributors International (HARDI) announced the board’s unanimous vote of the
first members in the recently developed affiliate partner and Energy Efficiency
Partner membership categories.
North American Technician Excellence (NATE) redesigned its industry website, www.natex.org, to offer visitors an
enhanced experience with easier access to information about certification,
valuable tools, and industry resources. The navigation and tools are clearly
organized by audience, including technicians, contractors, testing
organizations, training organizations, proctors, and other NATE partners.
HVAC Excellence has granted
accreditation to the following schools: South Central Louisiana Technical College (Reserve, La.); and Altamaha Technical College’s
four HVACR programs (Jesup, Brunswick, Kingsland,
FCI).
