WAILEA, Hawaii — It might be hard to think about work when you’re on Maui — one of the most remote islands in the Pacific. The breezes are warm, the ocean waters are very blue and the palm trees impossibly tall. The U.S. coast is almost 2,500 miles away.

 Through several initiatives, the groups said they hope to increase building performance and the safety of occupants.  

 NAHB Chief Economist David Crowe said market conditions continue to favor the real estate market.  

The company opened new HVAC operations in Alberta, Texas and New Brunswick. 

 The plant's features include high-efficiency HVAC, solar heat-reflecting roof coatings and plumbing that cuts water use 32 percent. 

 The company said it will be promoting its line of air- and water-cooled packaged and split light-commercial air conditioners.  

 The public is invited to make comments at www.ashrae.org/publicreviews until Dec. 30.  

 The Tradesman Pro Tech, available as a backpack and bag, are designed to make it easier to haul devices to and from the jobsite, and protect them while there.  

 The company has evolved into selling a varied line of lighting products for hazardous, industrial, hunting and construction uses, officials said.
