HEATU
is the acronym for the Heating,
Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International’s Education and Training University, a program with
4,000 wholesaler-focused online courses.
Members
of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors used the event to lobby for the
repeal of the estate tax, more workable regulations and better guidelines for federal
weatherization programs.
“Heating and cooling is the
single biggest energy consumer in a home, and accounts for about 40 percent of
all the energy used by homeowners,” said Stephen Yurek, president and CEO of
the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute.
