Belief in the market for
single-family homes among those who build them hit a record low this month, the
National Association of Home Builders reported.
After two months of declining figures, private,
nonresidential construction increased 1.3 percent in September compared with
the previous month, the U.S. Census Bureau said.
The National Association of Home Builders
announced Tuesday that it is cutting staff and operations, a move it said would
save $11.5 million next year.
