The U.S. Energy Department tested the efficiency levels claimed by makers
of tankless and storage-style water heaters. The Air-Conditioning, Heating and
Refrigeration Institute said the products had perfect results, unlike most
other appliances tested.
Twenty-nine more metro areas made it onto the
NAHB-First American Improving Markets Index, which now lists 98 markets in 36
states as showing measurable gains.
The index is comprised of the results of survey
questions given to Air Conditioning Contractors of America members, who are
asked how they feel about business prospects in the near term.
Citing newly released federal data, Associated General Contractors
officials said the numbers of people working in construction rose to a two-year
high.
