Samsung Electronics America Inc. announced that it has agreed to acquire Quietside Corp., a leading distribution channel for HVAC products. Quietside has been the master distributor for Samsung HVAC products in the United States and Canada since 1997.

Many contractors are reporting issues with parts and equipment availability in their local regions this summer, attributing cooler seasonal temperatures and unpredictable consumer behavior as the likely causes.

In 2013, the world air conditioning market was valued at $91.6 billion, having grown more than 6 percent compared with $86.8 billion in 2012 — evidence that the global a/c market is finally out of the woods. 

To meet the increasing demand on its data center applications, Vodacom required a solution that would allow it to quickly roll out additional facilities without the time, high cost, logistical barriers associated with new builds, or constraints of retrofitting facilities in existing buildings. 

Across the country, school administrators are realizing the importance of good IAQ and a comfortable indoor environment, which both contribute significantly to student success. 

According to the manufacturers that make equipment for schools, there are often many options available to districts looking to make those much-needed upgrades.

Despite receiving strong bipartisan support in the House, the bill now faces an uphill battle in the Senate.
