Bosch Termotecnologia S.A.’s Aveiro plant, 70 kilometers south of Porto in the northwest region of Portugal, passed the 20 million mark in production of gas-fired water heaters this past fall. 

The Brute™ Series is a line of gas-fired boilers and volume water heaters. 

With four models supplying from 84,800-214,800 Btuh, and cascades of up to 16 units for even higher outputs, the Buderus GB142 modulating gas condensing boiler can provide sufficient heating comfort for any type and size of home or small to medium business, said the company.

Water heater and boiler manufacturers are diligently introducing high-efficiency systems into the marketplace with the goal of making life easier for both the contractor and the consumer. 

These days, it’s not just going into a house and installing a cast-iron boiler. Today’s units offer consumers multiple choices regarding efficiency and performance. 

The following formula has been around the North American hydronics industry for a long time: Btuh = 500 x gpm x delta T. It can be used to estimate the rate of heat transfer into or out of a device that has a stream of water flowing through it at a known flow rate, and with a measured temperature change between the inlet and outlet of that water stream.

Designed for smaller residential applications with up to 1.5 bathrooms, the E50C Condensing Combi Boiler has been added to the E Series.
