GridPoint, a supplier of data-driven energy management systems (EMS), announced that TOMS King LLC, a northern Illinois-based Burger King® franchisee, has deployed GridPoint’s energy management solution at all 59 TOMS King restaurants after a successful six-site pilot.

Today, commercial building automation systems (BASs) are increasingly embedded with computing and digital communications tools that have transformed their capabilities.

The Aurora UPC seamlessly communicates with Aurora boards and converts the Modbus protocol to BACnet MS/TP, LON, or OpenN2 protocol. 

These everyday objects include everything from light bulbs to HVAC equipment and systems. When these devices are connected to each other and to the Internet, the resulting communication and data will help enable buildings to operate at peak efficiency.

The global building automation and controls market was valued at $29.8 billion in 2013 and is expected to reach $55.5 billion by 2020, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.04 percent from 2014 to 2020, according to a new market research report published by MarketsandMarkets.

Wireless controls can be used to link devices found in a variety of building systems, including HVAC, lighting, fire and life safety, and security and access. In addition, they often provide networked control in buildings or areas where wired controls are simply too challenging or expensive to install, notes Navigant Research.
