Samuel A. Shuman of Speer Mechanical in Columbus, Ohio, died April 12 at the age of 89. Shuman joined Speer Mechanical in 1957 and built it into a successful mechanical contracting business.

A new 1.6 MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant at Lakeridge Health Oshawa will power 42 percent of the hospital’s electrical needs. The CHP plant is fueled by natural gas for cleaner, more efficient production of electricity. Heat from the process will be used to heat the hospital.
