A new 1.6 MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant at Lakeridge Health Oshawa will power 42 percent of the hospital’s electrical needs. The CHP plant is fueled by natural gas for cleaner, more efficient production of electricity. Heat from the process will be used to heat the hospital.
