It might be late in the game, but Heating, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) is going for the win, not the tie. What is the latest in the regional standards case?
This is a very important election for small-business owners
like HVAC distributors. Government regulations like the regional equipment standards
are affecting how distributors are able to plan for 2013. The importance of the
top-of-the-ticket candidates should not be diminished, however, I urge
distributors to put just as much research in what candidates on the local
level.
Many HVAC
distributors are not able to have their own in-house human resources
department. Because of this, mistakes can be made that might cost the business
thousands of dollars or more. Enter human resources consultant Nancye Combs.
What does she have to say that might save your business one day?
When you arrive home after your 12-hour work day, take a moment with your young child or grandchild. While bouncing that child on your lap, explain to them the power of hard work and the American dream. Tell them if they work hard, are innovative, and have the intestinal fortitude to take a risk they could one day be the owner of a multimillion dollar business that helps employ hundreds of grateful people. I would wait until the child is older to explain that if they want to pass that business on to the next generation, the United States government will grab 55 percent of the pie.
Through the legal advocacy group Cause of Action, the Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) has filed a petition to intervene through the United States Court of Appeals against the DOE. HARDI’s petition to appeal the rule is based on the claim that DOE failed to follow proper procedures in issuing the rules for regional efficiency standards.
Distribution Center talked with Heating,
Airconditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) chairman
Don Frendberg about the HARDI Foundation beginning a new investment fund. The
fund was announced at the recent HARDI Annual Conference.
