The practice of capping the ends of duct started more than 15 years ago. Over the past several years, there has been a substantial increase in the requirements for covering the ends of duct after fabrication and during transportation, storage and installation.

The Spiral Duct Manufacturers Association, better known as SPIDA, is an organization focused on promoting the use of round ductwork and flat-oval duct. The organization is comprised of nearly 90 member companies throughout the United States and Canada.

The Spiral Duct Manufacturers Association was excited to welcome over 50 members and guests who joined us for our annual winter meeting, held Jan. 29 in conjunction with the AHR Expo in Las Vegas.

There is an increasing demand from building owners, architects and mechanical HVAC construction engineers for energy efficiency in buildings.
