I learned of the passing this past summer
of Nils-Einar Wahlgren, a senior writer atVVS Forum,a trade magazine in
Sweden.
Nils and I would see each other at the IKK Expos in
Germany and many of the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigerating Expos in
the United States. We often talked of the industry in the press rooms during
those events. He was a wonderful source of information concerning HVACR issues
in Europe, such as related to refrigerants - that I often passed along to our
readers in stories about how developments in Europe could affect North American
contractors.
We considered each other good friends. When he learned of
my love of classical music, he gave me the gift of a wonderful CD of music by a
Swedish composer as recorded by the Gothenburg Symphony. I had planned to
return the favor during the AHR Expo this winter in Chicago with a recording of
American music by the Chicago Symphony.
Guess I can’t do
that now. He will be missed.
