The annual Remodeling Show took place in Indianapolis last week. I used the opportunity to poll contractors at the show, who were mostly from the Midwest.

From the Associated Press: Dallas police are
looking for a man who they said repeatedly sneaks into backyards, dances around
naked and then runs away. Police believe the man has been exposing himself in
the same neighborhood since 2005. The most recent incident was on Sept. 30.
Having just returned from two outstanding conferences, I rediscovered something from my ancient school days: sit in the front row if you want to stay engaged and learn something.
I fear we’ve lost our way. As businesspeople, we often react with such shocking shortsightedness that we fail to see into next year, maybe even into next week.
Monetizing
social media ventures has proven to be a difficult task. With the pencil
pushers and bean counters clacking away at profit and loss sheets, justifying
the time spent on Facebook, Twitter, etc. can be next to impossible at times.
