The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced up to $20 million in available funding to spur the development of high-speed industrial motors and drives, using high power-density designs and integrated power electronics to increase efficiency.

The global variable speed drives (VSD) market is forecast to grow by almost 30 percent to 2018, according to a report from BSRIA, a test, instruments, research, and consultancy organization headquartered in the United Kingdom.

Emerson Climate Technologies Inc. has announced the formation of a joint venture with Shanghai Ruking Electronics Science & Technology Co. Ltd. The new company will be named Ruking Emerson Climate Technologies (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and will be focused on variable speed inverter drives, controls, and solutions.

Available for the CFW-11 variable-speed drive, the Pump Genius process control software manages and monitors up to six pumps in a coordinated system.
