A MUST-ATTEND EVENT: More than 700 people attended the inaugural Service World Expo event, held Oct. 26-27 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas.
SPECTACULAR SUPPORT: More than 80 vendors packed the 31,000-square-foot exhibit hall, which sold out months prior to the event.
SERVICE WORLD HONOREES: Angie Snow (left), vice president, Western Heating & Air Conditioning in Orem, Utah, and Joe Cunningham (right), CEO of Successtrack Network, received the Woman of the Year and Consultant of the Year Awards.
MASTER OF CEREMONIES: Larry Taylor — former ACCA chairman and owner of AirRite Air Conditioning Co., founding member of Comfort Institute and the Service Roundtable, and the recipient of ACCA’s highest award, the “Spirit of Independence,” in 2001 — served as the event’s emcee.
FULL SPEED AHEAD: Irish racing legend Derek Daly, whose racing career spanned 17 years and subsequent broadcasting career extended another decade, delivered the show’s opening keynote speech.
STANDING ROOM ONLY: The breakout sessions at Service World Expo were so well attended that many contractors were forced to stand at the back of the room.
HIRING AND FIRING: Todd Liles, founder of Service Excellence Training, took a critical look at hiring and firing millennials in his “Killing the Professional: How to Create a Sustainable Team Member” presentation.
BLUE COLLAR APPROACH: In his presentation, “The Elusive Next Level of Your Business is Closer than You Think,” The Blue Collar Coach, Kenny Chapman, utilized his experience as a business coach and plumbing business owner to help contractors get closer to success than ever before.
IN THE RED ZONE: Rick Wilson, director of sales and marketing, Arzel Zoning, discusses the company’s Haven wireless damper with Mike Nicolai, president of Triton Air Inc. in San Clemente, California.
