The IAQ market in the U.S. totaled $7.8 billion in 2015, is forecast to reach $8.3 billion in 2016, and grow to $10.8 billion by 2021, increasing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.3 percent from 2016 to 2021, according to a report from BCC Research.

The keynote speakers for the IAQ 2016 Defining Indoor Air Quality: Policy, Standards and Best Practices Conference have been announced. The conference, co-organized by ASHRAE and the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre (AIVC), takes place Sept. 12-14, 2016, in Alexandria, Virginia.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced funding for new building technology projects led by small businesses — four of which are aimed at improving IAQ — that have a strong potential for commercialization and job creation. These awards are for $150,000 each.

American Air Filter Co. Inc., d/b/a AAF International, announced it has acquired Flanders Holdings LLC, a leading air filter manufacturer in the U.S. With this acquisition, Flanders will be integrated into AAF, with the combination creating the largest air filter company of its type in the North American and global air filtration markets, said AAF.

Pure Air Control Services, an indoor environmental quality firm, announced it will host its Sustainable Buildings Conference along with Tremmco/CanAm on April 27, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the IAQ Learning Institute, located at 4911 Creekside Drive in Clearwater, Florida. And, due to heavy demand, a second day has been set for April 28.

The global high-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filters market is forecast to reach $2.7 billion in 2016, according to a TechSci Research report, due to deteriorating indoor and outdoor air quality, rising consumer awareness regarding airborne diseases, coupled with stringent government regulations to improve IAQ.
