WaterFurnace is licensing the Tendril Connect™ cloud platform to deliver full home energy management functionality to its customers. The solution will be made available to consumers in 2012 through WaterFurnace’s network of more than 2,000 dealers and distributors across the United States and Canada.
“The power of the Tendril Connect platform is that it can connect a vast array of smart devices in the home to a single portal and deliver real-time information and control into the hands of the homeowner virtually anywhere,” said Tom Huntington, CEO and president of WaterFurnace International. “By leveraging its open architecture to integrate our WaterFurnace geothermal systems into the Tendril ecosystem, our already well-informed customers will gain additional insight into their energy use by connecting to additional smart devices through the Tendril platform and have the ability to manage and control energy consumption in their homes.”
“We are excited to partner with a leader in geothermal systems and renewable energy,” said Adrian Tuck, CEO of Tendril. “This is a great example of why we architected our platform to be open and extensible — so that we can accommodate new and innovative technologies and renewable energy sources that companies like WaterFurnace are delivering, which are becoming increasingly important to consumers.”
WaterFurnace joins the Tendril Connect Platform Partner program, which consists of more than 25 partners, including large energy industry players like Siemens Energy and smart device and appliance producers like Whirlpool Corporation.
