COLUMBUS, Ohio — Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) has announced the launch of the 2013 Homes for Our Troops Campaign, coordinated by HARDI’s Impact Committee and HALO (Helping All Live On). The mission of Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is to build specially adapted homes for service members who have been severely injured in combat operations.

“This year, HARDI’s Impact Committee will follow a build located outside of Cottonwood, Ariz., near where the 2013 HARDI annual conference will take place Dec. 7-10,” said Dave Chatmon, chair of the HARDI Impact Committee. “We’ve been so thrilled to see an increasing amount of distributors signing up to contribute. HARDI members, Russ Geary, Geary Pacific Supply, and Greg Bush, Bush Supply, have been particularly involved with the kickoff of this campaign.”

“We at Geary Pacific look forward to being a part of this year’s Homes for Our Troops program in our area,” said Geary. “When Bryant Jacobs, a recipient of a HFOT build, spoke at last year’s annual conference, he thanked the membership for our help with building his home; we were moved by Bryant’s gratitude. We talked amongst ourselves at our table during the banquet how we are the ones that should be honored and grateful of Bryant’s service to our country. Again, it is a privilege to participate in a build. We would certainly encourage all HARDI members to do likewise.”

“Bush Supply is proud to help with the Homes for Our Troops program,” said Bush. “We always appreciate opportunities that allow us to use our resources to give back to our community. When we saw HARDI was doing this project and that it was in our state, our home, we knew we had to participate. Thank you to HARDI and to HALO for the opportunity. From the Bush Supply family to the Sgt. Maynard family, welcome home.”

Homes for Our Troops is building a home in the Verde Valley for Sgt. Jordan Maynard, wife Jennifer, and son Jay.

HARDI is currently accepting contributions up until the Dec. 7-10 annual conference. Contributors will be recognized at the conference. To register for a contribution, access the HARDI Homes for Our Troops Contribution Form. For more information, contact Sue Calvin at scalvin@hardinet.org.
