During the August congressional recess, Heating, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) distributor member Johnstone Supply of Cincinnati hosted U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot, R-Ohio, to see firsthand the contribution of HVACR distributors to the local and national economy. During the site visit, Chabot was able to meet with employees, tour the facility, and discuss policy issues impacting Johnstone Supply and the distribution community.
“Every day, our business is impacted by decisions made in Washington, and we greatly appreciate Congressman Chabot taking the time to learn about our company, what we do, and how those decisions impact our business,” said Greg Grimme, owner, Johnstone Supply.
Those in attendance discussed the impact of regulations on businesses, the need for tort reform, and the challenges estate tax poses to multigenerational businesses.
“We are fortunate to have Congressman Chabot representing our business and our customers in Washington,” Grimme said. “He understands the issues and lets us know, in a straightforward manner, what his position is.”
Of the visit, Congressman Chabot said: “I always appreciate the opportunity to visit local businesses and see firsthand the great work being done in our community. It was extremely beneficial to be able discuss with Johnstone Supply’s management and employees the issues they face every day and how Congress can enact policies that will help businesses like them grow and thrive.”
