Company: Midland Heating & Air Conditioning in Minneapolis
Customer: The Reserve in Woodbury, Minnesota
Installation: 75F building automation system
Completion: Summer of 2015
Objective: Facility managers for The Reserve specifically sought out the 75F solution as a multitenant comfort driver in their Woodbury building after installing the system in their Edina, Minnesota, location. A co-working space with multiple work stations and meeting rooms, they wanted a solution that would balance changing occupancy needs while saving energy. The Reserve insisted that 75F be included in the specifications for the building and sought a contractor with 75F experience.
Work Completed: The Reserve features 50 individual zones in a commercial building space. The 75F system features wireless zone controllers that are placed in each zone and monitor the temperature, damper position, and airflow temperature. The controller wirelessly sends data to the central control unit and then to servers in the cloud, where it is sent through smart algorithms that predict the energy requirements and wirelessly adjust the system. Smart dampers are controlled using data generated through the smart algorithms and are wirelessly transmitted. These smart dampers are proactively adjusted throughout the day to regulate temperatures.
