ATLANTA — Synergy Solution Group, a network of commercial HVAC contractors, hosted its first Sales Summit Sept. 7-10 in Atlanta. The event examined why contractors do what they do, how to overcome the stigma of the typical salesperson, and how to build relationships with fellow Synergy members.

More than 40 sales professionals attended to hear best practices and ideas about leadership from speaker Steve Thomas; how to develop active listening skills from Mike Nichols, owner and president, ACIS Inc., McKinney, Texas; how relationship selling leads to financial selling from Dave Dickens, business development and project manager, Interstate Mechanical Corp., Phoenix; and understanding value and differentiation from Steven Horwood, vice president, sales & operations, Neelands Refrigeration Ltd., Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

“The best part of the Sales Summit was meeting and hearing from a group of extraordinary people, from the group leaders down to all the attendees,” said John Henry, account executive, Cox Engineering. “This was one of the most valuable experiences I’ve had as a professional.”
