RACINE, Wis. — Modine Manufacturing Co. has unveiled the newest addition to their direct fired make-up air product line, the MCV/MVV Series.
Ideal for cost-conscious applications that require 100 percent outside air, the new unit from Modine provides first-rate efficiency with a 100 percent thermal efficiency (92 percent sensible), and extends airflow capability to as low as 800CFM to cover far more applications than previously offered.
"The MCV/MVV is filling a much needed gap for our end users without compromising the best-in-class features people have come to expect with Modine HVAC units," said Kimberly Raduenz, marketing communications manager for Modine. "With the outstanding thermal efficiency that direct gas-fired heating provides in 100 percent outside air applications, these make-up air units come with a rich set of standard features aimed at simplifying installation and minimizing maintenance costs. It's a win-win for both our end-user and contractor customers."
The new units are available with two model options, MCV and MVV. The MCV is a direct fired, 100 percent outside air, constant speed fan model, while the MVV adds variable speed fan capability.
Just a few of the standard features of the MCV/MVV Series include: competitive pricing to provide low initial cost, standard neoprene vibration isolated blower and motor for quiet operation, Auto-Velocity™ profile system constantly and automatically adjusts burner air velocity for optimal combustion under changing airflow and/or static pressure conditions, and the prewired 10 foot long power and control wiring harnesses provided in flexible conduit simplifies electrical connections, especially with the standard floor mounted wiring chase.
"In addition to an outstanding list of standard features, there are a number of optional value-added features that can be installed at the factory," said Mike Schires, senior product manager for Modine. "From galvanized interior double wall liners for ease of cleaning, to inlet and/or burner gas pressure gauges to quickly identify pressure without a manometer, the new MCV/MVV models provide everything you need in a direct fired unit. The units also are available with an optional microprocessor based control system that can allow the unit to function as a stand-alone unit with an increased level of control or can be fully integrated with the customer building management system with either BACnet® or LonWorks® network protocol compatibility."
