Sigler Wholesale Distributors hosted a Charity Softball Tournament on Friday, June 8th at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex in California. Customers and vendors made a financial contribution to participate, and there were 12 teams that played. Sigler matched those contributions and regional manager, Carlos Martinez was able to present a check for $45,000 to the United Way of Ventura County.
The funds raised will benefit the Ventura County Thomas Fire & Flood Fund.100 percent of donations received for this fund go directly to those affected by the floods and fires that occurred in California in 2017. This organization was chosen because Sigler wanted to do something to help the community where they do business; employees know customers, friends and family who were directly affected.
Each team was guaranteed a minimum of two games and there were 16 total games played. Additionally, there were food vendors and a social area for players to hang out when they were not playing. The winner of the tournament was South Coast Mechanical, the runner-up was Southland Industries and the consolation bracket winner was Western Allied. These teams were presented with trophies and baseball caps to commemorate the day. Sigler hopes to host this type of event in the future.
