COLUMBUS, Ohio — HARDI, in partnership with The HARDI Foundation, awarded Mindy Heitman the 2014 David M. Lawson scholarship. The $2,500 scholarship is intended to cover the full cost of registration and any associated travel expenses for attendance at the University of Industrial Distribution (UID). According to the association, this scholarship is granted to the HARDI member that has demonstrated admirable commitment to the HVACR industry through their leadership, hard work, and enthusiasm.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity and really glad to be a part of HARDI,” said Heitman. “Everyone at HARDI does such a fabulous job and the entire industry really benefits.”

An employee of Benoist Brothers Supply since 2011, Heitman represents the fourth generation of owner management and is focusing on leading the company over the next four years. She has made training and education a key priority during her time with the company, stressing the importance of increasing company-wide skills over the next few years.

As a HARDI member, Heitman is participating in the new HARDI Emerging Leader program and has expressed excitement about topics such as branch and operations effectiveness for distributors, and a new process of distribution sales management. Classes on these topics will be offered during the UID program.
