LENEXA, Kan. — O’Connor Co., an HVAC distributor, was recently named Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating’s 2017 Residential Distributor of the Year for the Central Business Unit. This prestigious designation is the product of double-digit growth in both 2016 and 2017 resulting in the area’s largest market share.
O’Connor’s dedication to Mitsubishi Electric includes having a Mitsubishi specialist on staff to provide localized application as well as technical and design support with ongoing local training events. In addition, three trained inside sales specialists routinely quote design/build opportunities. An additional team member provides dedicated customer service to contractors.
“Having in-house ductless specialists has certainly helped us go a long way in building our Mitsubishi Electric business,” said Greg Borr, president, O’Connor Co. president. “This continues to be a quality partnership with a quality brand.”
O’Connor’s commitment to partner with Mitsubishi Electric on dealer development was notable in 2017. In addition to leading a group of Diamond Contractors to the Mitsubishi Electric Experience at the Mitsubishi corporate headquarters in Suwannee, Georgia, the company also hosted a targeted conference in Omaha and helped grow the number of Diamond Contractors by 233 percent.
“The service and support that O’Connor offers their Diamond Contractors is what makes them want to come back and purchase on a regular basis,” said Kevin Hehn, residential sales manager, Mitsubishi Electric Central Business Unit. “O’Connor is very engaged with Mitsubishi Electric in our annual Diamond Alliance planning process. I believe we are just scratching the surface when it comes to delivering the message about our zoned comfort solution products to its contractor base. I see O’Connor continuing to grow with Mitsubishi Electric HVAC because of its dedication and willingness to transform the industry.”
“Our success this year was part of a team effort to drive engagement and grow sales,” added Borr. “We can’t say enough about the power of Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Alliance planning process.
