SAVANNAH, Ga. — Controls Group North America (CGNA) welcomed industry leaders to the 2019 CGNA Members’ Meeting.
This year’s meeting theme centered around “The Winning Formula.” Over the course of two days, attendees were introduced to valuable business tools and critical ingredients for success in today’s competitive and ever-changing controls industry. Attendees shared best practices, exchanged ideas, and networked with professional peers from across the country.
Keynote speaker Scott Kuethen, CEO of Amtech Human Capital, shared his “Winning Formula” and critical strategies for hiring and retaining the right talent, as well as succession planning and knowledge transfer in the face of an aging workforce.
Following his keynote presentation, Kuethen invited attendees to break into small, collaborative groups and led a workshop on developing more targeted and effective recruitment, retention, and succession-planning strategies.
Attendees also participated in several additional activities throughout the two-day gathering, including specific committee meetings that allowed company leaders and CEOs to collectively problem-solve issues impacting their businesses, discuss emerging trends and technologies, and share complementary strengths.
Another speaker, Mike Sackett, executive director of CGNA Director, guided members through economic ebbs and flows and how to plan for adjustments necessary for the next economic cycle.
Bill Sorochak, a representative from Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coast Empire, introduced CGNA to his organization and discussed how attendees could give back to their communities by helping the Ronald McDonald House provide comfortable temporary housing for families of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment.
Mike Sackett says the response he received from members who attended was overwhelmingly positive.
“I think this was our best and most productive meeting to date,” Sackett said, “and we plan to outdo ourselves again in 2020.”
