YEAR-TO-DATE: Year-to-date U.S. shipments of residential gas storage water heaters increased 3.6%, to 3,224,952, compared to 3,111,669 shipped during that same period in 2022. Residential electric storage water heater shipments increased 5.4% year-to-date, to 3,627,463 units, compared to 3,443,154 shipped during the same period in 2022. Commercial gas storage water heaters increased 0.7%, to 65,390 units, compared with 64,948 units shipped during the same period in 2022. Year-to-date commercial electric storage water heater shipments increased 22.9%, to 110,400 units, up from 89,844 units shipped during the same period in 2022. Gas warm air furnaces decreased 23.9%, to 2,297,977 units, compared with 3,020,786 units shipped during the same period in 2022. Year-to-date U.S. shipments of oil warm air furnaces decreased 29.3%, to 14,540 units, compared with 20,552 units shipped during the same period in 2022. Central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps decreased 13%, to 7,232,656 units, down from 8,314,671 units shipped during the same period in 2022. Year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners decreased 14.1%, to 4,244,595 units, down from 4,939,663 units shipped during the same period in 2022. The year-to-date total for heat pump shipments decreased 11.5%, to 2,988,061, down from 3,375,008 units shipped during the same period in 2022.
