Some might say Luke Cooper was born into the HVAC industry. He’d say that he has refrigerant running through his blood.
In 2007, after serving four years as an infantry soldier in the U.S. Army, with two deployments, Cooper came home and started working for his father’s company as an install apprentice doing new construction “rough-ins.” Cooper eventually got interested in hydronics and forced air retrofit installations, and he recognized the market there was for replacement in Colorado.
All of this led to Cooper Heating & Cooling’s transition from a new construction company to a service and replacement-based company. As the departments grew, Cooper moved into the role of residential replacement installation manager, and then operations manager, overseeing all HVAC service and install, as well as their electrical and plumbing branches. From there, Cooper become the general manager, and in 2023 he took over the business as the president and owner.
“As a third-generation Cooper in HVAC, I take great pride in carrying the family name to not only meet the standards set by my grandfather and father but to continue to exceed those standards to grow our family name as a top industry leader,” Cooper said.
Another notable achievement of Cooper includes growing the company’s total revenue from $8 million to over $44 million while increasing their market share past 10%.
“I want to expand and change the standard of HVAC past basic heating and cooling to all whole home services by focusing on customer education and service offerings to reintegrate ventilation (that so often gets missed as a major HVAC component) as well as introducing solar, electrical, whole home generators, and plumbing complete packages, to make homes as self-sufficient/reliant as possible while reducing carbon footprints to drive environmental well-being,” he said. “[That’s] what we like to call ‘Your Home’s Personal Micro Grid.’”
