Alex Ivey
Alex Ivey joined the HVAC industry all because his cousin married a man named David Graves, who got Ivey his first job with an HVAC company, and basically showed him the ropes of being an HVAC technician.
Today, Ivey has served over 18 years in the HVAC industry. He’s licensed in Mississippi and Alabama, has two associate degrees (one in business and one in HVAC), and in 2015, he founded his very own company. Specifically over the past few years, Ivey has expanded his reach through social media. @HVAC_Tips has over 14,500 followers on TikTok (and over 238,600 likes), more than 6,400 followers on Instagram, and over 17,000 subscribers on YouTube. Overall, his “HVAC influencer” content has had over 100 million views.
Ivey is also currently competing in Round 2 of ServiceTitan’s HVAC National Championship. In the submission involving a brazing kit, Ivey scored a great time. Ivey is competing in the Professional Division. While the competition started off with what was rumored to be close to 1,000 people, Ivey said, after the second round there will only be 36 people remaining. The third round is the final 10.
“First place is $40,000, second place is $15,000, and third place is $10,000,” Ivey said. “It would mean a lot to me to win the competition. I spent 18 years trying to become the best tradesman I can be. The championship gives me validation that the dedication was worth it. The money will be used to fuel the HVAC company I have.”
