Meet all of the 2024 Top 40 Under 40 HVACR Professionals

Justin Lloyd

Company: Rogers Heating & Cooling
Title: Sales Manager
Age: 38

Lloyd said his journey into HVAC sales was serendipitous, yet purposeful. When Lloyd initially approached Rogers Heating & Cooling, it was in a sales position for a radio station, with the intent to sell radio advertising. In doing so, he came across an open sales position at the company, and his curiosity was piqued.

The enthusiasm and encouragement to explore this opportunity shown to him by Alyssa Rogers, vice president at Rogers Heating & Cooling, was formative to Lloyd’s ultimate decision to pursue a career in HVAC.

“Within two months, I joined Rogers and embraced a new chapter in my career, never looking back since,” Lloyd said.

When he reflects on his journey today, several milestones stand out as defining moments. This includes Lloyd’s transition into a commission-only role, which at first was daunting, but that all changed after his first sales call.

“I secured a significant sale, selling the largest and most advanced unit available,” Lloyd said. “As I drove away from the customer’s home, a sense of confidence washed over me, affirming that I had the skill and drive to excel in this field.”

Lloyd has also achieved $1 million in sales, and the moment that was announced remains a key memory for him.

“It was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the supportive environment fostered at Rogers,” Lloyd said. “Being recognized in front of my peers reaffirmed that I was on the right path, contributing meaningfully to the company’s success.”

Another highlight in Lloyd’s career was when he was officially appointed to sales manager at Rogers Heating & Cooling.

Under Lloyd’s leadership, Rogers Heating & Cooling has seen substantial revenue growth. From 2020 to 2021 (the year Lloyd joined), company revenue grew from $2.2 million to $3.7 million. In 2023, the company reached $7.3 million. This year is projected at $10 million. Lloyd also leads a team of comfort advisors and a follow-up coordinator that have collectively sold over $8 million to date.

“The camaraderie and collective drive within our team propel us forward each day, making every success a shared victory,” Lloyd said.

Lloyd is deeply passionate about mentoring and developing talent within the organization, whether that means enhancing customer service standards, refining sales techniques, or nurturing overall professional growth, he gets immense satisfaction from seeing individuals thrive in their roles.

“Looking ahead, I aim to transition into a regional sales manager/coaching position, which would afford me the opportunity to travel to different locations, collaborate with diverse sales teams, and drive collective success on a broader scale,” Lloyd said. He also holds the primary aspiration of making Rogers Heating & Cooling a household name, nationwide.
