Jake Lysher’s biggest HVAC accomplishment to date is successfully taking on a business his grandfather was a part of.
“He passed when I was very young, so I never truly got to meet him, but I hope to continue carrying on what was a huge part of his life,” Lysher said. “My grandfather on my mother’s side, Jack White, was one of the owners of Jacobs and Rhodes back in the day and my father, Gary Lysher, began his HVAC career here.”
And about 10 years ago, after a couple career changes, Lysher’s father wound up back at Jacobs and Rhodes. About eight years ago, the owners were looking to grow the business, so Gary asked Lysher if he’d be interested in learning the trade by coming on as a maintenance technician. Eventually, Lysher worked his way up and last March, was offered the opportunity to purchase Jacob and Rhodes. Since he joined, he’s been instrumental in propelling the 63-year-old company into the future with innovation and technology.
“I learned more and more about all the facets of the business, moving from maintenance, to service, to administration,” Lysher said. “Last year, the previous owners were approached by a private equity firm with the option to sell. Thankfully, they wanted to keep the business locally owned, and my father and I were incredibly fortunate that they offered to let us purchase the business. It’s been a whirlwind experience, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
Now, Lysher finds himself a part of a fantastic team of people who take excellent care of each other and their customers. And watching each member of the team grow not only professionally but personally as they continue to provide the best customer experience possible, is a true pleasure for him.
When asked about his future HVAC goals, he said, “To continue to provide top quality HVAC service to our community with the support and teamwork of our amazing installation, service, and administration teams as we’ve done since 1961.”
