Albert Meza has revitalized Bill Howe’s heating & division since he joined the company in August 2022. Additionally, he’s set the stage for future growth and success. Upon joining the company, Meza began his strategic reorganization by immediately identifying areas for improvement, and implementing industry best practices, resulting in streamlined operations, improved efficiency, and enhanced overall performance.
“My journey in the HVAC industry began during my senior year of high school in 2003, in wood shop class,” Meza said. “My wood shop teacher, Mr. Burdick, had just awarded me the Golden Hammer Award for winning first place in Riverside County for building a billiards table. Dave Burdick was a huge role model in my life and mentored me throughout my school years.”
Burdick encouraged Meza to attend any kind of trade school, and Meza ultimately landed on the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, for HVAC.
Now possessing over 20 years of HVAC experience, Meza said his accomplishments to date are more than just key performance indicators (KPIs), they’re significant and sentimental.
“My first major HVAC accomplishment was landing my first job in the trades as a warehouse associate straight out of trade school,” Meza said. “Getting my foot in the door was exhilarating.”
Meza’s second significant achievement happened six months later, when he was assigned his first service truck. He remembers it vividly: “a 1996 single-cab Toyota Tacoma with a camper utility shell, no air conditioning, and no power windows,” he said. “It wasn’t the best, newest, or prettiest truck in the fleet, but it was mine. My father was extremely proud of me. To this day, I can see the joy on his face as I rolled up the driveway that day. It was a very proud moment in my career. … I will always be proud of my upbringing in the trades, especially in the residential HVAC community.”
