Josh Moryl has always been mechanically inclined, and loved working with his hands. His father is a stationary engineer that operates larges boilers and chillers, and he recollects finding that very interesting as a child. Additionally, he has family members in the HVAC trade. Coupled with the fact that Moryl enjoys all aspects of refrigeration, combustion, electric, plumbing, sheet metal fabrication, engineering, and design, it’s no wonder at the age of 23 Moryl became state licensed in Kentucky and Ohio, and at the age of 24 he started JM Mechanical.
“Fresh out of high school, I started working for a small HVAC company, and a majority of my training was on-the-job training,” Moryl said. “I believe HVAC is the best trade when it requires you to have a wide spread knowledge, and that is a major reason for my attraction to this industry.”
Today, Moryl enjoys the challenge of growing and operating JM Mechanical, and solving the new challenges that come along with any growth and expansion.
”With our commercial division I have the opportunities and abilities to design HVAC systems for large commercial projects,” Moryl said. “A project that has been a large accomplishment is the successful design and installation of a 120-ton VRV system for a local specialty school.”
Moryl has also created a many opportunities for others through JM Mechanical.
“A place for all the team members to learn and grow and reach new levels in their careers,” Moryl said. “As we grow each year and continue to set new records we are also creating new opportunities for team members.”
In the future, he hopes to reach $100 million in total revenue for residential and commercial HVAC in multiple markets. Once this is achieved, Moryl’s goal for JM Mechanical is to become employee-owned to give back to those that built the company.
