BALTIMORE — Danfoss has reimagined energy-efficient food retail with its Danfoss Smart Store and Application Development Center (ADC), which opened in 2023 in Nordborg, Denmark.
The store features cutting-edge technology and off-the-shelf solutions for reducing energy consumption, food loss, and carbon footprint, exemplifying the company’s journey towards a net-zero supermarket, a press release from Danfoss said.
Danfoss is planning a livestream event, a guided tour of the Smart Store ADC, for 11 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Oct. 23. This is an opportunity for manufacturers, contractors, and food retail professionals to explore innovation and sustainability, the company said.
During the livestream, the Danfoss food retail team will walk through how the company’s portfolio of solutions can work together. A live question-and-answer session, featuring Danfoss’ food retail and CO2 refrigeration experts, will follow.
Participants will gain firsthand insights into the applications of the Danfoss cooling and heating technology that has made the Smart Store 50% more energy efficient than traditional models while decreasing upfront costs, the company said. The Smart Store ADC serves as a critical resource for businesses in the food retail sector that are looking to innovate, the press release said. With its state-of-the-art refrigeration and air conditioning test facilities, the facility allows for real-time experimentation and development of customized solutions that meet specific operational needs.
