Using NetAlive’s wireless portal software on handheld, wireless, Web-enabled devices, Copeland says that it will be able to improve the ability of contractors to provide more immediate and enhanced compressor service.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly design and develop wireless services to make product specifications and parts replacement data available to engineers, installers, contractors, and maintenance personnel on a variety of devices, including cell phones, two-way pagers, and personal digital assistants like the Palm Pilot.
For example, contractors at a jobsite can enter compressor model numbers into their Palm Pilots or cell phones and have access to all the data needed to repair or replace the compressors.
