Amber, who has B-Cell Leukemia, came home from school recently to a surprise pizza party and a newly redecorated bedroom. Air Products Supply, an Oklahoma City-based Luxaire distributor, and the local Make-A-Wish chapter redecorated her room with new furniture, bedding, window treatments, and accessories. In addition, Mark Ritz, Luxaire marketing manager, and Brenda Keith, Luxaire indoor product specialist, presented Amber and her sisters with gift bags.
Air Products Supply enlisted the support of three of their dealers, local businesses, and the Oklahoma Redhawks minor league baseball organization to raise more than $5,000 to help grant Amber’s wish. The fundraising efforts began June 15, 2002, with an opportunity for consumers to win a Luxaire Home Comfort System. Local businesses accepted donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and last summer the Redhawks organization worked with Luxaire to organize a variety of fundraisers for a Luxaire/Make-A-Wish day at the ballpark.
Luxaire embarked on a three-year partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation last year. As a corporate sponsor, Luxaire donates a portion of every sale of its products toward the company’s minimum annual contribution of $250,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In addition, dollars raised by the company’s sales efforts will support local Make-A-Wish chapters located in dealers’ markets.
Last year the organization’s dealer network raised $22,000, which increased Luxaire’s annual donation to $272,000.
