The AEC Spectrum Award honors outstanding achievement as a PHCC association executive. Her successful career in association management includes the Distinguished Executive Award from the Texas Society of Association Executives in 2005; the Bill Brister Award for industry achievement; and organizing and developing the "Heat the Town" community service program, which gained national recognition from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Betty Gill, PHCC Tennessee executive director, received an award in recognition of her 25 years of service during the PHCC annual business meeting.
In addition, the AEC Excellence in Publications Awards 2005, were announced. The state magazine category winners were the Tennessee PHCC, the Maryland PHCC, and the Massachusetts PHCC. For the state convention brochure/magazine category, the winner was the Indiana PHCC for its Indiana Contractor EXPO Issue.
In the local newsletter category, both western New York and St. Louis Plumbing Industry Council won. In the state newsletter category, the awards were given to the Maine PHCC and the California PHCC. The Florida PHCC won for its state membership directory, and the Indiana PHCC won for its state Web site.
