The Top 10 list highlights countries outside of the U.S. that are making significant strides in sustainable building design, construction, and transformation, illustrating the ever-growing international demand for LEED green buildings. 

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that Canada has topped its international rankings of the Top 10 Countries for LEED. The list highlights countries outside of the U.S. that are making significant strides in sustainable building.

LEED, a program for the certification of design, construction, maintenance, and operations of green buildings, certifies more than 1.85 million square feet of commercial building space daily. 

USGBC partnered with Keybridge LLC to produce the survey, which was targeted at executives in charge of building operations or corporate sustainability efforts. 

The world’s top-performing companies are prioritizing sustainability as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, and a majority of them are using the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program to achieve their goals, according to a new survey released by the USGBC.

The USGBC LEED green building rating system has strong bipartisan support across the U.S., according to a recently released poll, conducted by Echelon Insights.
