The comment period has changed and closes September 26, 2016.

• DOE will host a public meeting on October 18, 2016; 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. being held at the Navigant Offices, 1200 19th Street, Suite 700, N.W. Washington, DC.

DOE is proposing to revise its test procedures for central air conditioners and heat pumps (CAC/HP). DOE published several proposals in a November 2015 supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking (SNOPR). 

DOE will host a public meeting on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm in Washington, DC. 

Comments submitted between the close of the original comment period (August 1, 2016) and the start of the reopening will be deemed timely filed and there is no need to resubmit.

The effective date of this rule is Aug. 15.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will also host a public meeting Wednesday, July 20, in Washington, District of Columbia.

The effective date of this rule is July 1, 2016. The final rule changes will be mandatory for representations of energy use or efficiency on or after November 28, 2016.

DOE has rescheduled its public meeting regarding the notice of proposed rulemaking for portable air conditioners to Wednesday, July 20, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Washington, District of Columbia. 

The comment period closes August 1, 2016.
