DOE has determined that the comments received in response to the direct final rule do not provide a reasonable basis for withdrawing the direct final rule. 

The effective date of this rule is 60 days after publication in the Federal Register. 

DOE is also announcing it will host a public meeting on June 20, 2016. 

DOE is classifying miscellaneous refrigeration products, which include coolers and combination cooler refrigeration products, as covered products under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.

DOE is also offering an opportunity for the public to submit petitions to amend this final rule and to submit comments regarding any timely-submitted petitions received by DOE.

The comment period is reopened until June 15, 2016.
