Joshua Kostiuk is a student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, working toward a major in construction management. He spent the summer of 2006 working as an intern at Shannon’s Inc., International Falls, Minn. The internship program is organized by the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.
There are many things you can learn in the classroom: ordering process, contracts and documents, estimating, scheduling - basically all the fundamental information you will need to know. But all that aside, there is not one thing you learn in a classroom that can prepare you for the field.
