Sam Smith
Samuel Smith is the product manager, embedded electronics and infrastructure, retail solutions,
Emerson. As product manager for Emerson — retail solutions, Smith is responsible for product development and the life cycles of embedded electronic software and hardware. He joined Emerson in 2011 with significant career experience in automation, integration, electrical design and business development. Smith previously held positions in power generation, pollution controls, ethanol production, mining, industrial automation, economic development, and technical education. He earned a technical degree from Tri-County Technical College; a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Piedmont College; and an MBA from Kennesaw State University. He received additional industry training in HVACR, building automation, PLCs, robotics, and industrial automation. He holds a patent in HVAC control method and has earned awards for outstanding leadership, excellence in support, technical innovation, and excellence in technical education.
