I’ve got a secret for HVAC and refrigeration contractors that want to grow their businesses. Rub elbows with successful contractors at a national meeting. I’ve had the opportunity to attend both the ACCA and MCAA annual conventions in the last 30 days.
Association meetings provide an excellent opportunity to socialize, network, and learn from industry experts. The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) annual convention got off to a roaring start March 2 as nearly 2,500 people converged on Palm Desert, Calif. for the four-day event.
If you ever needed more evidence that going green is normal, look no further than this story. Normal, Illinois made the news recently by taking steps to green their town - and bragged about it.
Not sure about you, but I receive a ton of e-mails a day. Of course, 99.8 percent are worthless. I still have yet to find out why Dr. Mikel Georth would leave me funds in a secret bank in Chicken, Alaska.

The AHR Expo in New York City is a blur in the rearview mirror now, but an after-taste is in the mouths of a few. The NEWS received several letters from attendees who suggested that the rule of “no photography on show floor” should be more strictly enforced. I agree.
As I pass my 10th anniversary with The NEWS, I think back on the various locales I have visited and meetings I have attended. I also think about the possible settings for future meetings and trade shows. Maybe you can help me with some suggestions.
