YEAR-TO-DATE: Year-to-date U.S. shipments of residential gas storage water heaters increased 0.8%, to 2,515,939 compared to 2,497,130 shipped during that same period in 2022. Commercial gas storage water heaters increased 2.8%, to 51,769 units, compared with 50,367 units. Gas warm air furnaces decreased 24.9%, to 1,730,288 units, compared with 2,304,781 units. Central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps decreased 13.2%, to 5,592,155 units. Central air conditioners decreased 16.4%, to 3,242,157 units, down from 3,876,462 units. Heat pump shipments decreased 8.4%, to 2,349,998, down from 2,566,307 units.
