ALau Industries, Inc.(Dayton, OH) wheel and housing unit has played a vital role in helping the rescue workers at ground zero The World Trade Center in New York City breathe a little easier. A manufacturer of portable, commercial air conditioners had selected Lau's wheel and housing design for its new air scrubber and placed an initial order for 10 units early in September. After the events of September 11, the manufacturer received an urgent request for 40 of the new air scrubbers to assist emergency personnel who experienced extreme difficulty breathing at ground zero. The manufacturer then contacted Lau for assistance and the company promptly responded. The company produced and shipped all 40 of the wheel and housing units in only two days.
