The Chiller Systems Group, a
network of independent contractors throughout the U.S. dedicated to knowledge
sharing and training to provide building owners the highest level of chiller
service, presented its fall meeting this past fall in Boston.
The group announced that the
event, hosted by EMCOR Services Northeast of Stoughton, MA, was attended by 110
members and guests representing independent contractors from all over the
United States.
Also, the Group announced the
addition of new members Jackson and Blanc of San Diego, CA, Sno Valley Process
Solutions of Spokane, WA, Metro Mechanical Service, Inc. of Las Vegas, and
Elliott-Lewis Corporation of Philadelphia.
The meeting included presentations
by York International, McQuay International, Optimum Energy, RPC, Midwest
Parts, Hudson Technologies, and Alignment Specialties. Member Vito Costanza of Industrial Cooling,
Inc. of Freeport, NY made a presentation on his company’s successful project
retrofitting a York OM chiller with a York Optiview control panel and a new
proprietary PLC programmer. Bryan
Strode of Entech Sales & Service of Garland, TX introduced 18 technician
training classes scheduled specifically for Chiller System Group members in the
upcoming months.
Classes include teardowns for
centrifugal and screw machines for multiple manufacturers, control panel
service for multiple manufacturers, Joy fan service, and vibration
analysis. The Group announced the
introduction of new website capabilities that will give members additional
capabilities to share technical data and better serve their customers. The Group’s 2008 spring meeting will be held
April 17-19 in Irvine, CA and will be hosted by Mesa Energy Systems, Inc.
The Group works with chiller
manufacturers to provide members technical training and information in a timely
manner. Meetings are held semi-annually
to exchange technical data, best practices, and stay current on manufacturer
and supplier capabilities. In addition
to the semi-annual meetings and training, members share technical information
daily through an e-mail user group. The Group is comprised of 45 independent
contractors who specialize in chiller systems service, with its members
