Cleaver-Brooks recently launched the CBEX, a completely integrated boiler, burner, control, and heat recovery system that achieves the highest fuel efficiency and lowest emissions of any firetube system on the market today in 15% smaller footprint. The CBEX maintains 3% oxygen across the full operating range with 30 ppm NOx performance while firing natural gas. The system can meet today’s tougher emissions requirements, including 5 ppm NOx without selective catalytic reduction and 1 ppm CO. Cleaver-Brooks optimized the geometry of the tube to increase heat transfer by 85%. The CBEX includes a Hawk linkage-less control that automatically tunes the boiler to changes in environmental conditions and a stack economizer that reduces fuel use by recovering waste heat from flue gases and using it to preheat boiler feedwater.
